The Official WIC program is available to low to moderate income pregnant women, recently delivered women, breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutrition risk. Fathers can also bring their children to apply for WIC. You may apply for WIC if you are working or unemployed. Check the Income Guidelines Table to see if you are eligible for WIC. This website was created for women looking for WIC information and locations. We are also working towards adding other locations and services that may help out women.
Office Information:
Nassau County Health Department, Maternal/Infant Services, provides Healthy Start and Healthy Families programs to serve pregnant women, infants and children under 5 years.
Services include
parenting education,
childbirth education,
WIC,
smoking cessation,
supportive counseling,
car seat education and early brain development.
Focus is placed on staying healthy while pregnant and understanding developmental milestones of infants.
Family planning, pregnancy tests and financial screening for PEPW are available. The program refers out to private doctors for prenatal care. There are 3 satellite offices in Callahan, Hilliard and Yulee. Other services include pediatric services, immunizations (free), well-baby checkups, and primary care. There is a fee for pediatric services. Medicaid and sliding scale are also offered.
